To start a business, you should ask yourself the following questions:
- Do you personally really see yourself as an entrepreneur? What does your private environment think about this decision? What alternatives are there for you? A career as an employee or a business purchase?
- Do you have sufficient commercial knowledge?
- Are you aware of the risks involved in starting a business?
- Can you financially bridge the formation and start-up phases?
- Do you know the market in which you want to start your own business sufficiently well? Do you have good relationships in your target market?
Managers who come from larger companies and start a business or buy a small, affordable company will not find the usual foundations in the organization. They will have to do a lot of things themselves and therefore may not be able to leverage their management expertise. It is important that you are aware of this impact before you decide to take a step into self-employment.
