You are the boss. Show your team and your supervisor that you lead your team in the best interests of the company. As a leader, you are not the spokesperson for your team, but part of the leadership. Represent the decisions of the company’s leadership. Enforce even unpopular decisions on your team. Hold your employees accountable. Ensure that missed targets and rule violations (foul plays) result in consequences.
High performance is expected of you. Therefore, you can demand good leadership. Have the courage to ask your manager to justify decisions that you do not understand. Always remain constructive. Also have the courage to speak up to your manager if you feel you are being treated unfairly.
Be aware of your role! Are you really ready for leadership? Not everyone has to lead.
Even if you want to lead, it is not a given that you can lead.
